Joyce at Singapore Botanical Gardens, Singapore

by Kelvin Seet on Apr.28, 2009, under Portraits

This set of photos are a continuation of my shoot with Joyce. I meant to upload them much earlier but due to work commitments I was unable to do so! So sorry for the delay! :)

During this shoot, we went to a less popular part of the gardens as we were looking for something new and fresh! We used whatever settings and backgrounds we could, to find ways to pose and come up with some interesting photos. Here they are and do leave me your comments!

As always, thanks to Joyce for her excellent professionalism although she was a first timer at this! The number of mosquito bites she had during this shoot would had angered and irritated many other less patient models! Thank you so much Joyce for the shoot! I really had fun shooting you! ;)

Joyce at Old French Embassy, Singapore

by Kelvin Seet on Mar.30, 2009, under Portraits

It started as a casual conversation when I spotted a photo of Joyce, whom I met on a Christchurch flight, in a cheongsam on Facebook. It looked good on her and so I asked her, would she be interested in a photo shoot? :)

She was! So began my journey into Portrait Photography with Joyce as my very first model!

We initially arranged a cheongsam shoot at the Chinese Garden in Jurong, but it was too far so we changed the location to the Old French Embassy and the Singapore Botanic Gardens. So on one early morning, together with my old buddy, Aylwin and his own photoshoot model Claire, we set off in the sunrise towards our destination.

As it was my very first shoot, I was not sure of how to proceed once we reached the place but luckily, Joyce being an extremely cheerful and chatty person, made my job very easy! We started the shoot slowly and once we got into gear and into the mood, we shot photos all over the place and Joyce was happily posing for my camera! :) I also realised that I picked a very good model because she was capable of so many “looks” during the shoot!

One thing I had learnt while shooting outdoors, was that insect repellents were a must! Poor Joyce suffered from so many mosquito bites that I was so sorry for her. But she was very nice in that she didn’t let the bites affect her mood and the shoot! So I must really thank her again! Thanks Joyce! What’s more, it was also her very first role as a model in a photo shoot!

Here are the photos taken at the Old French Embassy. It’s my very first photo shoot so I do hope to get some comments please? I have MUCH to learn and I did learn quite a bit during this session. I am aiming to do better the next time round! Here are the selected shots!
